It gives me great pride as your County Clerk to discuss with Suffolk County residents many of the important aspects of the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office. As Suffolk County’s largest revenue generator, the County Clerk is responsible for the filing of land transactions, new business filings, and registering of notary publics. Additionally, the County Clerk serves as Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts.
First and foremost, my goal is to protect and safeguard our public records. I am extremely proud that the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office was one of the first in New York to use state of the art technology to redact information that banks might erroneously include on filed documents as well as notifying homeowners when documents are filed against their property. Privacy protection is my #1 concern and I will continue to do all that is necessary to keep personal information out of the public sphere.
The County Clerk’s Office has received numerous awards for outstanding constituent service, transparancy in government, and innovative projects and utilization of Information Technology. Some of the awards include “Best of New York” Award from the Center for Digital Government, “Municipal Leader of the Year” Award from American City & County magazine, and “Municipality of the Year” from InfoWorld.
The Suffolk County Clerk’s Office continues to be one of the busiest offices in New York. I take great pride in providing the highest level of constituent service. All while limiting the size of government and keeping costs down to the taxpayer. We continue to strip away layers of bureaucracy and improve access to official records. I remain committed to reinventing how local government serves its constituents and will continue to bring government closer to the 1.5 million residents of Suffolk County.
